Stake Land has some moments but suffers from an unnecessary narration and an emotionless lead performance. Solid, if tired, idea that never amounts to much more than some cool gore and useless characters.

Terribly executed and incoherent visuals mixed with a sloppy as hell script prevent the ridiculous concept for the film from being truly fun. It has moments and Ben Walker is great as Honest Abe.

Even though this is close to the original novel I Am Legend, a filmmaker has yet to get the story and the dark nature of the book correct. At least Price is good as always and the cinematography is chilling.

Quintessential Dracula movie and vampire movie for that matter.  Bela Lugosi IS Dracula in one of the most effective movie monster performances in history. Dwight Frye as Reinfield is equal parts entertaining and insane. The sheer terror and intensity in the first 30 minutes is something to behold.  Great set design and cinematography throughout.  The ending is more anticlimactic than I remember it initially being.
